The information we collect
If you decide to use the site to request information about a project featured on Free Range Ocean we may ask for your name and e-mail address, and on occassion your telephone number.

 

This information may be passed to the citizen science project lead who runs the project you have requested information about.

When you request it we will add you to our mailing list.

 

If you enter a competition or contest on our website the terms and conditions of entry may include opting into the newsletter.

 

If you have requested information through the site or are on our mailing list we may use this information to target adverts on third party sites such as social media. Users may opt out of seeing these adverts by changing their settings within their social media accounts.

We cannot be responsible for the privacy practices of our citizen science partners. Free Range Ocean will provide aggregated, anonymous data to advertisers, our members and other third parties. This data will not be able to be linked to any individual. We will not sell or lease your information to any other party. If this policy is changed at any time in the future we will notify all members by e-mail, and provide you with an opportunity to opt out of this release of information if you so wish.

Free Range Ocean will email you when you make an enquiry through freerangeocean.org or social media channels with the details of your enquiry and contact details for any project partners that can take your enquiry further.

 

After this, we may email you with other ideas for your participation in similar projects along with news and articles. We will try to make sure that the content of these transactional emails is relevant to you.
